Student Advising Manual
--Enhance Your Undergraduate Major

Colleges of the Arts and Sciences Combination Curricula
Several colleges within the University cooperate with the College to offer the students the option of obtaining a combined degree that leads to the granting of two degrees. These programs usually take longer than the four years, but can be finished in a shorter time than it would take to obtain the degrees separately. There are currently 10 of these programs:
ASC-Allied Medical Professions
ASC-Arts
ASC-Business
ASC-Dentistry
ASC-Education
ASC-Graduate
ASC-Medicine
ASC-Nursing
ASC-Optometry
ASC-Veterinary Medicine
Speak with an advisor early on to decide if one of these programs is right for you. The advisors will be able to help you plan out your course of study.

The Capital Program
The Capital Program allows any ASC major to obtain a minor in the area of business. The program only accepts around 50 students per year. Those students who exhibit a strong interest in business and have a competitive GPA are likely to be approved for this program. There are a few prerequisites that need to be fulfilled before the program: Accounting 201, Economics 200, and Mathematics 116, 130, 148, or placement into Level M. The student chooses from a variety of minor programs: Computer and Information Science, International Business, Management and Human Resources, Marketing, Real Estate, and Survey of Business. Contact Shelia Francis at 292-6961 or go to ASC in Denney Hall for more information about this program.
