First job out of college: Editor-in-chief, Makio, The Ohio State University

As Editor-in-Chief of O S U's Makio, Ms. Wilson managed the layout and photography, trained the business editors and staff, supervised 25 staff members, negotiated with photography, advertising, and publishing forms for contracts, and conducted marketing campaigns. From October 1986 to March 1993, as a Private Japanese Language Consultant, she provided translations and training to area businesses on how to better conduct business in Japan, served as interpreter, and translated instruction manuals concerning robots and other plant equipment. Since 1992 she has been an Instructor of Japanese and English as a Second Language for the Tolles Technical Institute in Plain City. From May 1991 to March 1992, she was the Office Manager/Purchasing Director for Hidaka U S A, Inc., where she managed and maintained organization outside of the manufacturing area, provided sales support, purchased all items for the office, plant, and grounds, and translated during meetings. From March 1992 to March 1993 she was Director of International Marketing for Scriptel Corporation, where she managed the sales to all international O E M customers, provided technical sales support, and oversaw all international shipping and invoicing practices. In March 1993, Ms. Wilson founded Languages Unlimited, Inc., which services American and international business communities, as well as individuals, seeking international awareness. She managed all functions of the company including financial, marketing, sales, and service aspects for over 11 years and also founded Camp One World, a language-immersion camp for students in first through eighth grades. On the first of this year, Kris was appointed as Executive Director of the Rotary Club of Columbus, one of the largest Rotary Clubs in the world. Upon accepting this new position, she sold her company Languages Unlimited and is enjoying the freedoms of not owning her own company. She is involved in numerous community activities and has won many awards, including O S U's William Oxley Thompson Award, an alumni award for early career achievement, and the State of Ohio's Making a Difference Award. She has traveled throughout Asia and Europe and Nicaragua. Ms. Wilson has a minor in International Business Management/Marketing, and she attended Nagasaki Wesleyan University in Nagasaki, Japan on a Rotary Club International Scholarship.
