Meeting Information Page

D S A G Minutes from April 30

Shari Lorbach handled meeting at Dean Roberts' request
Corinna Ash took notes

Items of Business:

D S A G Web Site:

Alex and Jackie reported on Student Organization Web sites. Majority are out-of-date, few are nice and recently updated.

Jody Croley Jones (Web manager, Humanities) was present to discuss possibilities.

Suggestions and questions posed included:
  • What are the primary purposes for this Web site? Who will be seeing these pages and what are we trying to communicate to them?
  • meetings posted, links to past meeting minutes included
  • updates on events (D S A G Calendar, include Humanities events)
  • comments and questions
  • Shari will submit current photo of group

The Web site claims D S A G represents the diversity of the Humanities. How can we prove this?
  • pictures with short bios, Digital photos will be taken at the next meeting (by the next meeting, all students please submit short bio to Corey)
  • photos with tagline descriptions
  • photos in window of opportunity immediately after first Fall meeting.

There are links to some sites, there should be descriptions of what students will find at those links.
  • Fireside chats could have information on the topic and speaker, include contact information as well as photos from the event and/or comments from participants.
  • update from recent Career Night, include new pictures.
  • "Peer Mentor" online request form for mentees to fill out with email direct to members? Or Corey?

Would we like to have a Frequently Asked Questions page? What questions and student answers?

Student Organization information and links included on our Web site?

Posted threaded-answer Questions
  • this could be sent to a primary (Corey) for review before being posted.

Also put D S A G Web site link on all fliers and emails, to get the word out.

Peer Mentor:

Needs much more discussion. This might be a good beginning for the first threaded-answer question/discussion.

Flyers - 2,000 flyers were printed and if there are enough after primary distributions to departments and dorms, etc, possibly hand out flyers on the oval on May 11.
