2007-2008 Inaugural Lecture Series

The Annual Inaugural Lectures are given by honored faculty members within the College of Humanities who have obtained the rank of full professor. This annual event gives honorees the opportunity to deliver a lecture to fellow college faculty and other university guests concerning their work and research interests.

The context of the lecture itself typically includes a summary of the evolution and nature of the honoree's specialized field, highlights of some of the general issues of that particular field, and a description of how the honoree situates his/her work within their field.

The College of Humanities conducts this annual event to highlight and bring attention to the scholarly work that is being done by its distinguished faculty and to illustrate how the work contributes to mankind as a whole.
