Ways to Get Involved
- Help Archie and your Alma Mater by joining The Ohio State University Alumni Association.
- HUMAS would like to communicate with you on a regular basis via e-mail to share information about the group and invite you to participate in events. So be sure to Sign-Up!!!
- Attend and/or volunteer at HUMAS events
- Participate in Alumni Calling Night to recruit high school students.
- Share your career knowledge with current Humanities majors.
- Contribute or secure auction item to raise funds for the Humanities Alumni Scholarship Fund.
- Network with students.
- Share your thoughts and ideas by completing a brief interest survey (see below).
- Support your major's department.
Development Committee
The function of this committee is to promote scholarships and raise money for the College of Humanities, including scholarships and other initiatives, and work with the Dean, the Director of Development, and the Coordinator of Alumni Relations of the College of Humanities on public relations, development, promotion of College scholarship, and other matters in the College with an external focus. The function of this committee is to organize the meetings of the Society and other Humanities alumni events; plan the program; publicize them; and to get notification by mail or phone, or both, to the alumni of the Society. Contact: Lisa Kolb, lisakolb@yahoo.com.Membership Committee
The duty of this committee is to check the names of all eligible for membership with the Director of Alumni Affairs of The Ohio State University Alumni Association and to use all means possible to encourage non-members to do their share in furthering the interests of the College of Humanities by joining the College of Humanities Alumni Society. The function of this committee is to review applications for College of Humanities scholarships and awards. Each year, the College offers several scholarships and awards to Humanities majors. The process of reviewing student applications, faculty recommendations or nominations, advising reports, and selection committee reviews and evaluations is handled by the Scholarship Selection Committee completely on-line, no paper, no meetings. Alumni who agree to take part in our selection committee will need to have Internet access with the capability to read PDFs.Typically, the College receives 5-50 applications for any of our scholarships and awards. The review/evaluation process takes place in two waves: (approximately) early February for study-abroad applications and (approximately) early April for merit/leadership scholarships and awards.
